Gear School 2026: Save the Date

Gear School 2026 is set for September 30 and October 1 in Dubuque, Iowa. This year’s program moves to a new venue, Q Casino & Resort – Reflections Event Spaces, offering more room for attendees, sessions, and the networking dinner that has become a signature part of the two-day experience.

Now in its fourth year, Gear School is a two-day program designed for entry-level and early-career professionals in gear manufacturing. Attendees work through gear nomenclature, hobbing processes, heat treatment, inspection standards, AGMA accuracy grades, and troubleshooting. Industry instructors from Helios Gear Products, Advanced Heat Treat Corporation, and Kapp Niles will lead sessions, bringing direct shop-floor experience to each topic. The program also includes a guided tour of The Adams Company’s manufacturing facility, where those processes are running in a live production environment.

Whether you are an engineer looking to sharpen your design-for-manufacturability knowledge, a buyer who wants to ask better questions of your suppliers, or an operator building context around the processes you work within every day, Gear School is built around practical, experience-based learning. Attendees leave with a certificate of completion and a working foundation they can apply on the job.
